Jeff Hewitt - Senior Family Lawyer

Jeff Hewitt

Jeff has 17 years’ experience in family law and leads the MKI Family Law team in providing a range of detailed and diverse services for our clients. Jeff oversees our three main pillars of family law: advice, negotiation, and court representation.

Jeff’s approach to the family law journey sees that each client understands and feels comfortable during the entire process, taking into account their unique situation.

Jeff believes that there is not a one-size-fits-all blanket approach to family law cases, meaning that your case will be treated individually to best suit your desired outcomes and interests.

Jeff is a highly experienced negotiator and is always settlement-focused. This extends to mediations, where Jeff often plays a strong role in participating and navigating through all the legal issues.

Jeff is also a skilled court-room advocate.

Our services extend across property and financial settlement, children’s issues, and de-facto and same sex couples matters.

For children’s issues, Jeff  and the team assist with everything from parenting issues and orders to parenting plans and child support agreements. Jeff approaches these sensitive matters on a case-to-case basis, “At the end of the day, it’s about acting in the best interests of the children.”

With property and financial settlements, Jeff focuses on fair asset division, consent orders, splitting superannuation and more.

Seeking an experienced lawyer like Jeff is the best way forward, as he can help simplify the process and help you resolve everything sooner.

“It’s highly important to have strong understanding of the system and the approaches needed to ensure you have a tight, well represented and balanced agreement.”

These agreements come in the form of court orders, or binding financial agreements, which we can advise on, prepare, and even lodge for you.

Jeff has also authored many of our blogs and free informational eBooks. Download his latest below or arrange a free discussion.
